"Then shall the King say to them on his right hand, 'Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungery, you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: I was naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when saw we you hungery, and feed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink? When did we see you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you? Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and came to you?' And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.'" Matt 25:34-40 NKJV

An old man was picking up objects off the beach and tossing them out into the sea. A young man approached him and saw that the objects were starfish. "Why in the world are you throwing starfish into the water?" "If the starfish are still on the beach when the tide goes out and the sun rises high in the sky, they will die," replied the old man. "That is ridiculous. There are thousands of miles of beach and millions of starfish. You can't really believe that what you're doing could possibly make a difference!" The wise old man picked up another starfish, paused thoughtfully, and remarked as he tossed it out into the waves, "It makes a difference to this one."

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Prov 14:12

There are days, when we see the plight or despair of other, and rejoice and are thankful for that not happening to us - It is those days when we are to be like the old man in the story above, and reach out to help them in their hour of need. We are called to make a difference, being Christ for those our paths cross, to help and encourage, to feed and clothe, and to visit them. We are called to love one another, not with just our lips, but through our actions and heart.

At Shepherd's Haven of Bath, Inc, we endeavor to put our love into action, feeding and clothing the needy in our area, to give them their due respect and dignity as being created in God's image and likeness.
