Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty
things, which you do not know.
Jer 33:3 NKJV
Serving as Jesus' hands to the world
Our Action Statement
Helping the Homeless Come Home
Our Mission Statement
The Mission of Shepherd's Haven of Bath, Inc is to
provide temporary shelter for the homeless people, teach
them how to become self-sufficient, and help them have a
sense of belonging in a community.
Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the
yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your
house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own
kin?
Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly;
your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry for help, and he will say,
Here I am. If you remove the yoke from among you, the pointing of the finger, the
speaking of evil,
if you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light
shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday.
The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and
make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water,
whose waters never fail.
Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many
generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in.
Isa 58:6-12 RSV
And whoever gives to one of these little ones a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple,
assuredly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.
Matt 10:42 NKJV
Shepherd's Haven of Bath, Inc is a newly formed non-profit Christian
organization, to create a homeless transitional shelter. The home will be a
safe haven for the homeless individuals and families from the Bath area and
vicinity. The ministry hopes the people who stay at the shelter will gain skills to live successfully on their own
and have a sense of community. Shepherd's Haven currently consist of members of different Christian faiths
who live in the area, who have a common interest:
to have a homeless shelter in Bath, New York.
"And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tested him, saying, 'Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?' He said to him, 'What is
written in the law? What is your reading of it?'
So he answered and said, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your
soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself
.' And he said to him, 'You have answered rightly: do this
and you wilt live.'
But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, 'And who is my neighbor?'
Then Jesus answered and said, 'A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing,
wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by
on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan,
as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil
and wine, and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two
denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.
So which of these three, do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?'
And he said, 'He that showed mercy on him.'
Then said Jesus unto him, 'Go and do likewise.'
Luke 10:25-37 NKJV
And in this I give advice: It is to your advantage
not only to be doing what you began and were
desiring to do a year ago.
But now you also must complete the doing of it;
that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there
also may be a completion out of that what you have.
For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted
according to what one has, and not according to
what he does not have.
For I do not mean that others should be eased, and
you burdened:
But by an equality, that now at this time your
abundance may supply their lack, that their
abundance also may supply your lack: that there
may be equality:
As it is written, He who gathered much had nothing
left over; and he who gathered little had no lack.
2 Cor 8:10-15 NKJV
After establishing ourselves in the community and seeing the plight of the homeless here in our area, I inquired of the Lord to receive
instructions from Him and of His mission for us here in our community. We started with donating and giving clothes, blankets, and coats to
the homeless. Seeking a deeper sense from God, He gave me these are the scriptures in regards to the homeless and our mission. After much
prayer and deliberation, the organization of Shepherd's Haven of Bath, Inc became a reality. Through much prayer and His encouragement,
we now have taken the vision of a transitional shelter, and put it in action.
Currently we are seeking funds to purchase the land, and build the shelter, to make this vision come to life.
Support can be done by sending us your tax-deductible donation to:
